What we do with your information

Privacy policy

What this website collects, why it collects it, and who gets to see it — in plain words, with nothing buried.

Last updated August 16, 2026.

This website belongs to Toulminville-Warren Street United Methodist Church, 2271 Saint Stephens Road, Mobile, AL 36617. If anything on this page raises a question, send us a note — it goes straight to the church office.

The short version

We collect what you type into a form on this site, and we count page visits with Google Analytics so we can see which pages people actually use. There is no advertising here, and nothing that follows you around the internet afterward. We do not sell, rent, or trade anything you give us, to anyone, for any reason.

What you send us

Two forms on this site send information to the church office.

  • Plan a visit asks for your name and email address. It also asks — and you can leave every one of these blank — for your phone number, which Sunday you are coming, how many people are coming, anything you would like us to have ready, and anything else you want us to know.
  • Contact the church office asks for your name and email address, what your note is about, and your message. Your phone number is optional.

Nothing else on this site asks you for anything. There is no account to create, no newsletter to sign up for, and no comments to leave.

What happens to it

Two things happen at once. The form emails the church office at churchoffice@twsumc.org, and it saves a copy in this website’s own database, so a note is not lost if an email goes astray.

Saved alongside what you typed are the date and time you sent it and the IP address it came from. The IP address is recorded to help us tell a real message from automated spam.

We use what you send to answer you. Filling in a form does not put you on a mailing list.

Prayer requests

The contact form lets you say who may see a prayer request: the staff and the prayer team, or the pastor alone. We honor that choice. Choose the pastor and it does not go to the prayer team.

Please do not send medical details, account numbers, or anything else you would not want written down. Email is not a private channel, and a form submission is an email. If what you need to say is sensitive, say so on the form and ask for a time to talk in person.

Cookies and tracking

Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser, which are what let it tell a returning visitor from a new one. Those are the only cookies this site sets for visitors. WordPress sets a session cookie for church staff when they sign in to edit the site.

Google Analytics tells us how many people came, which pages they read, and roughly what part of the world they were in. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it for advertising. There is no advertising pixel here and no social media tracker. If you would rather not be counted, blocking cookies for this site — or any ad blocker — will stop it.

Giving

Giving happens off this site. The giving buttons take you to PushPay or PayPal, and your card details are entered there, not here. Neither this website nor the church ever sees your card number. What those companies do with your information is covered by their privacy policies, not by this one.

Links and maps

Some links leave this site — Facebook, PushPay, PayPal. Once you follow one, that company decides what happens next, and this policy no longer applies.

Event pages show a map of the church, and the map is loaded from Google. That means Google can see that a browser at your IP address opened the page, the same as if you had looked the church up on Google Maps yourself. Along with the analytics described above, it is one of two things on this site that reach another company without you clicking anything.

Photographs

The photographs on this site are of this congregation, and faces are recognizable in many of them, including children’s. If you are in one and would rather not be, tell us and we will take it down. You do not have to give a reason.

Children

This site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a child has sent us something through a form, tell us and we will delete it.

How long we keep things, and how to ask for them back

Form submissions stay in the website’s database until there is no longer a reason to keep them. Ask us what we hold from you and we will tell you. Ask us to delete it and we will. There is no form to fill in and no charge for asking.

If this page changes

The date at the top changes with it. Nothing here works backward: we will not start doing something new with information you have already sent.
